Verify a credential

Enter the code of a certificate or credential issued through ProEvaluationSystem. You will see the record its issuer keeps: who it was issued to, for what, when, and whether it is still valid.

What a verification proves

The record, as the issuer keeps it

When it opens, the page reads the credential from its issuer’s records on ProEvaluationSystem. If the code exists, you know that credential was issued and what it says.

Who it was issued to

The holder’s name, as the issuer recorded it.

What it certifies

The title and, where the issuer added them, a description, the competencies and the learning objectives.

Who issued it

The institution or programme behind the credential.

When

The issue date and, if it has one, the expiry date.

Whether it still holds

Valid, revoked or expired, checked at the moment the page opens. A revocation shows as soon as the issuer records it.

The same code everywhere

The code on the certificate, in its QR code and on its PDF all lead to this one record.

What it does not prove

Read it for what it is

A verification confirms a record. Four things are left to you:

Identity

It does not prove that the person showing you the credential is the person named on it. If that matters, compare the name with an identity document.

Copies

A PDF, a screenshot or a printout can be edited. The verification page is the reference: if a copy says something else, trust the page.

The address

Check that the address bar reads proevaluationsystem.com, eurekasimulations.com or praesia.com. A page that only looks like this one, at another address, proves nothing.

The standard

It reports what the issuer recorded. It does not test the holder again, and the requirements for earning the credential are the issuer’s.

Who it is for

One page, three readers

Employers and recruiters

Check a credential before you rely on it

A candidate lists a certificate on a CV or on LinkedIn: confirm who it was issued to, by whom, when and whether it still holds, before an interview or an offer.

Admissions offices

Confirm what an applicant submits

Check a certificate attached to an application without writing to the institution that issued it.

Credential holders

Your proof, ready to share

Send the link to your verification page, add the credential to your LinkedIn profile, download the PDF or show the QR code. Whoever receives it can check it here.

Praesia

Credentials issued through Praesia

Praesia credentials are verified here too, and their page also lists the evidence behind them: how many independent observations support the credential, on which instruments, and a percentile once enough people have been measured on the same instruments.

Open Badges 3.0 · ES256

They also exist as an Open Badges 3.0 document on praesia.com that other systems can read. A digitally signed copy (ES256) is published only while Praesia has a signing key in place, and it can be checked against the public key Praesia publishes. Otherwise the document is published unsigned, never with a signature that would fail the check.

Credentials issued outside Praesia carry no digital signature: their proof is the verification page. The page this form opens reads the issuer’s record; it does not check signatures.

For institutions

Issue credentials anyone can check

If your courses, simulations or programmes run on ProEvaluationSystem or Eureka Simulations, participants can receive a credential with its own verification page, a PDF with a QR code and a button to add it to LinkedIn. If you revoke a credential, its page says so.

Tell us about your programme and we will show you how it would work.
